Good morning my friends!

So, It’s been a while since I posted a blog because of technical difficulties and my pure frustration with my computer!  I don’t know how many times I tried to post a blog yesterday and last night but every time I clicked the publish button, it would crash!  So….I gave up on the Monday blog.  Probably wasn’t good enough to post.  😉

I don’t know about your city, but it’s freakin cold outside!!  It makes me want to sing “Baby, it’s Cold Outside”.  I love that song!

I wanted to share a funny Bunco story with you that someone emailed into us about their bunco group…check it out!  Talking about men loving the game….

🙂

Hi
Just a quick note to let you know about our funny group!…. About three years ago I was put in charge of an employee’s graduation from college/ going away party.   Everyone was reluctant to attend, I said “bring 5 dollars and a side dish and you might win 60!!!”   They all asked what we were going to do and i didnt tell!!! (because a few years before i tried to start a bunco group and they all poo-poo’d it as a ‘girl party’).  But this time i tricked them and EVERYONE showed up 6 men, 6 women….we had it on the back porch, had a huge pot luck!  Since then for every birthday or company party we play BUNCO! They REQUEST BUNCO in lieu of gifts! THE men are the most excited!  Now the surprising thing, ages have ranged from 19 to 74!!  This Christmas all the employees have now become 21 and are excited to incorporate beer into dinner! HA HA   And now our BUNCO employee Christmas party has attracted the attention of my husband’s employees as well and we are combining them!!!  24 employees that we usually spend 20-50 dollars on each will make some NICE prizes!!!  And our ‘traveling’ bunko is a popular kids tv show character (a guinea pig wearing a cape named Lenny) and I call the possessor of Lenny “Lenny’s mama”  the boys love saying they are Lenny’s mama and having it ‘flown’ over to them!!!  He is so popular that they always want to keep Lenny instead of the prize!  I am hoping to have some iPods and kindles for this weekend’s prizes….

Sent from the tiny typewriter in my phone.

I love hearing stories like this one!  Super fun!

I wanted to remind everyone that you can get free stuff from the website!  Don’t forget to check it out here.  Also, Bunco Betty’s 20% off coupon is still good!  🙂  Just put buncobetty as your coupon code when you check out.

I would love to hear some fun stories from you gals about your bunco nights.  I’ve heard of couples bunco before, but my group hasn’t tried it yet.

Here’s a funny invitation from one of our bunco gals.  She’s the one who makes the fantastic Cosmos that seems to bring out the best in us.  ;0)

It’s that time again. You know the drill. Bring an appetizer if you like. Wear your most casual attire, including, but not limited to, sweats, jammies, slippers … whatever.

$10 seems to be the standard Bunco pot … so we will roll with that. Also, bring as much scratch as you want to loose for LRC @ $3/round.

There will be beer, cheap wine, vodka and whatever else is on site that day. I can do Cosmos again, but I am not responsible for hangovers, sharts, or amnesia.

We might have a 9-year old “ghost player” since my husband decided to split town during Bunco week. Rest assured I will make his life a living-hell for the inconvenience. Nobody f’s with Bunco night!

Cindy….I believe you have the Bunco “bag”. Some impaired person left it in your car last month….imagine that.

See you girls next week.

Terrie

Not sure exactly what I’m going to do today.  I had my workout, got my son off to school and need to go grocery shopping.  Oh yeah…I also have to dust the blinds today.  ICK!

Chat with you all later!

Hello readers!!

For some reason my husband FINALLY decided to exercise with me 3 days a week starting Monday!  I am excited!  We have to do a manly workout, so P90X it is!  I have been trying to get him to workout with me for years and it’s finally time!!  Of course he’s not overweight at all, but pushing 40 is getting him to re-evaluate things.  He was in the Army, so he swore that when he didn’t HAVE to run or workout, that he wouldn’t.  I guess we can say thank you to us getting older!  🙂  He’s a stud as it is, but adding a little P90X is going to blow his mind!  Anyone tried it?  I graduated the P90X program a couple years ago and it was great!  I was in SUCH good shape, but it’s not a weight loss program…just a “get into the best shape of your life” program.

As far as the rest of the week, I have been trying to do things for the school and running around trying to get some Christmas shopping done.  This time of year is crazy!  I did a bad thing and ate some pie…yes…I ate some pie!!!  Trying to eat healthy sucks.  That’s all I have to say.

So I was tweeting some bunco gals and one of them just got done with her bunco party which was an Ugly Christmas Sweater Bunco Party!  So cute!  So I decided to let you babes know that I am looking forward to one of you to take on the task and PLEASE share pictures on our Facebook page!  I love that idea!

Here’s what you can do:

Find the ugliest Christmas sweater that might be collecting dust in your closet that a family member made you or thought you would look good in…or you can go thrift store shopping and find some there.  I’m thinking that would be your best bet!  Also you can add the idea of funky Christmas socks or hats as well.

Don’t forget fun and wacky Ugly Christmas Sweater Bunco appetizer ideas!

Get some gingerbread man cookies and dress them in an ugly Christmas sweater using colored icing and sprinkles. Have some fruitcake and please, don’t forget the red and green jello shots!

Also if you want a cute gift for the winner, you can check out the Bunco Christmas ornaments here.

I am off to do some more shopping!

Hugs everyone!!

Bunco Betty 😉

Today has been fabulous!  I had my workout this morning and LOVED it!  Day 1 of Burn it Up with Debbie Siebers.  The one who burns your booty like you wouldn’t believe with her crazy leg lifts!  Then the kids went off to school which had me enjoying the quiet house…ahhhhhhh (that’s my sigh).

Then I did some Christmas/grocery shopping.  It is so easy to spend a bundle at Christmas time…sheesh!  Then the sexy man put most of the Christmas lights up until it got dark and then we were off to Mom’s house for dinner.  She made Turkey and Dumplings….SO YUMMY! (that’s me yelling…in a happy way)

Ok, so this next part isn’t so good…my son was saying he had a tummy ache and as soon as he got out of the car when we pulled into the garage he threw up all over the garage floor and it splattered all over his shoes and pants and my shoes and pants.  Poor baby!  The funny thing is he was excited to sleep on the floor in the kitchen.  Ok, sounds weird but after one special Valentine’s dinner out with the family, both my kids ended up throwing up at the same time!  Not just once, it was about every 20 minutes and they were taking turns!  After awhile of shampooing carpets in each of their rooms and going through tons of blankets, I decided that it was easier to clean up chunks (sorry to be gross) if they camped out in the kitchen on the hardwood floors.  That was probably the best idea I have ever had!  So we ended up doing just that and about 7am they both stopped throwing up.  I didn’t sleep a wink, but the clean up was way easier!  Even though this was a few years ago, they both still remember and think it’s cool to be sick and sleep in the kitchen.  Glad to be a fun mom! 🙂

So right now my son is sleeping on the kitchen floor.  He hasn’t thrown up again, so I will put him in his bed when I go to sleep and I will cross my fingers to make it through the night.

So I leave you with that and then below you will find some kick-ass bunco information you might need to get started with your bunco game.  🙂

Getting started ideas

  • Invite 12 friends to join your new bunco group
  • Pick a date and time for your first party (each of the 12 players will take turns hosting a bunco party throughout the year).
  • Type up a roster with all of the player’s names, contact information, and the month and date each individual will host a party.
  • Plan your menu and beverages. Our group does potluck, that way not only one person is in charge of feeding 12 women. 🙂
  • Set up 3 tables with 4 seats each
  • Explain the bunco game rules when everyone arrives on the first night and enjoy!

I’m picking the winner tomorrow (Tuesday) so keep your eyes open!!

Hey bunco babes..my lovely readers…
I am hoping you have survived Thanksgiving and there wasn’t too much family drama. 🙂 Fortunately, I don’t have to deal with family drama. I have a Mother-in-Law who loves me…although I must say her OCD gets to me every now and then, which is ok, through the past 11 years I have learned to just take a deep breath and go on my way. She is great and I am lucky that she loves me so much!

It was my first shot at making the dressing…not making it out of a box and it turned out yummy. I really don’t cook or bake so it’s kind of scary when I try something new. I was relieved at how easy it was. All the food was yummy and everyone had a great time. My kids on the other hand have been home for 7 days straight and are driving me C R A Z Y! They both have war wounds from fighting constantly and bounce off the freakin walls!!

I didn’t drink as much as I usually would have today since I was going to put my big girl panties on and try to face Black Friday. Wow is all I have to say. Thinking Boise, Idaho would be a semi-safe city to try Black Friday for the first time but there is still so many crazy shoppers out there! It was everything I imagined it would be and NEVER AGAIN! Of course, I chose Walmart to go to…there were police officers, frantic women AND men! LOTS of children (which in my opinion should be banned) and even tons of grandparents! I personally don’t think it was worth it for me, but I do know people who always shop Black Friday and come out of it happy.
What do you think of Black Friday? DO TELL! I’m interested. By the way I bought NOTHING! But I was with a great friend who got some good deals. 🙂 And she also put her life on the line for me by standing in a parking space so 2 other people didn’t steal it. LOL
A very interesting night indeed…now it’s been too long since I’ve stuffed myself…I feel the need to eat again!

I am So loving my bunco babe followers on Twitter and Facebook. Thank you so much for all of your support! Keep it comin ladies! I’m counting down the days until my next bunco night on December 10th! Thanks for the comment KT!! Much love!!
I’m off to bed!

Good afternoon bunco babes!

My son got 100% on his spelling test!!! SO excited for him!  We have worked so hard with him!  I swear that these words are crazy hard for the 2nd grade.  The funny thing is all he wanted was to go to the store and get these little ninja looking guys from one of the quarter machines.  That’s the new thing that the boys like these days.  So I was like sweet…that’s cheap!  Of course my daughter…the loud mouthed, opinionated 5 year old who has to get what she wants needed something too.  OH boy!

So we were leaving the store and he was so happy about his little quarter machine guys and my daughter was super excited about the little toy she got too.  I’m thinking that this year for Christmas I am just going to go around to all the little quarter machines and get some presents!  Good idea??  I mean, we spend so much money on these gifts for them and they don’t take care of them and things get broken and lost.  Why not have a cheap Christmas?  I doubt that will end up happening, but I can dream!

The big-ass zit I had on my chin went away and came back on my forehead above my right eye.  I woke up this morning and my husband said…”looks like it’s got the white head coming out!”  How freakin sexy is that?  I guess after 11 years together, that’s how it is.  Why does this continue to happen?  I’m in my 30’s and still getting zits!!??!!   Kind of embarrassing, and I love the support I get from my bunco gals.  All night they were cracking jokes about how the zit on my chin is talking to them!  Hahaha.  Funny.  Not really.  But thanks ladies.

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year again.  The parents come over and this year we have invited a couple that is here without their family.  Should be fun!  This time I’m going to insist on a game of LCR before or after dinner.  I am even going to include the kiddos, since they love playing.  Maybe they can play with their favorite candy and the adults can play with dollar bills.  How fun would that be??  One of us is going to end up with candy AND money…if it were one of the kids that would be funny too!

I’ll keep you posted on my Thanksgiving LCR game…and tell you how the turkey turns out.  😉

It’s Saturday….going to have some fun…after I cover this zit!

By the way… GO BRONCOS!!!  (BSU that is…)

I have a loss of words…I can only think of the yummy taco bell in my belly.  Why does it seem that every time I drink, I want taco bell??  It only seems to taste good after a few drinks.

So I’m sitting here and I have both my doggies at my feet under the computer desk.  The house is quiet…as it should be.  It’s almost 1am mountain time.   I have to think about getting to bed so I can get up early and workout.  Gotta work off the yummy taco bell.  🙂

I went to a concert tonight with a couple of girlfriends and it was a blast!  I’m lucky to have 2 girls nights within 5 days of each other!  Bunco night with the gals is always fun, but I haven’t been to a concert in such a long time.  Other than the trashed girl sitting above us who flipped off my friend…it was all good!  🙂  It always seems like there has to be that ONE chick who wants to be rude…

Tonight I drank Mike’s Hard Cranberry…I guess it was ok, not the usual yummy vodka drinks I’m used to, but it worked.  🙂

I have a handsome man waiting for me to come to bed and I think that’s what I’m planning on doing.

I am excited about all the new Twitter followers and Facebook “likes” we are getting.  🙂  I’m having another giveaway if you are interested!  All you have to do is be a great Fan!  See our Facebook page for details or click here!

For now bunco lovers, I’m hitting the pillow and letting my taco bell digest.

Bunco Betty OUT! 😉

Hello there fellow bunco babes!

I have to say, my bunco night turned out to be a blast!  No one knew of the secret place after our bunco game and it stayed that way until we pulled up to the building.  I think a few of them saw it coming, considering that I am the one who expresses herself as much as I can.  😉  Most all of the fab ladies knew that I had taken some pole dance classes before but never thought I would bring my bunco group to have some spins around the pole themselves.

Everyone brought yummy bunco appetizers and drinks and we filled our belly’s with as much as possible.  We had so much fun!  I think it was the first bunco game that we’ve had with an extra player!  The ante was $5 (keeping it simple) and I won for the most losses!  I gathered everyone in the kitchen and we chose drivers to get us all to the secret destination safely and hit the road.

Some had wine, some had vodka and others had beer in hand as we walked into Teeze dance studio.  A couple jaws dropped…I could hear their minds going a mile a minute…they were thinking…ok….what the hell are we doing here?  Are we really going to play around on this STRIPPER POLE?!?  Oh yes indeed…I was the first one on there with smiles to show that it wasn’t scary and it’s ok to find our inner diva!  We turned the music up and poured our drinks and the party began.  Everyone had a turn…and loved it!  Laughter, music and our own little dance club!  It was fabulous!!

After awhile I gathered everyone in a big circle on the floor to have a round of LCR…our other favorite dice game.  SO much fun!  The winner won $54!!!  By this time hours had gone by at our own little dance club and after a ton of pictures and too many drinks…it became time to head out.

Some ended up taking a cab and the best part of the night is everyone made it home safely.  I feel great!  It was my first time hosting and I wanted to make it memorable…and I am 100% sure it will be.  😉  I don’t think I scared anyone away…and I know for sure that the fab ladies now know that if you go outside of your comfort zone…good, fun things can happen!

I have the bunco kit at my place and my daughter is loving it!  She keeps using the cute bunco pens to practice her ABC’s and she loves ringing the bell.  I have all the tally sheets and score cards for the next time we meet.  It shall be so much fun!  I have the best set of bunco friends!  Thank you ladies for your fun times and great stories!

I have my drink…and I’m going to enjoy it.  😉

Hello all you wonderful ladies!!  I woke up with a major sore throat this morning…I WILL fight you crappy cold!  GO AWAY!  My son was home sick from school this week and he’s better now.  Just in time to pass it to mommy and his sister.  🙂  I went kickboxing last night and will workout today and hopefully sweat it out.

I scrubbed the walls yesterday and inhaled enough 409 to clean the outside of the house too!  My lungs are paying for it.  That just goes to show that it’s not healthy to clean!  LOL.  I don’t think I can get away with that.  I do have the simple green I use around the house and it’s probably better for the lungs, but it doesn’t seem to get the dirt off the walls where the dogs lay.

No one comments on my blog posts…darn-it!  I would love to hear some feedback.  🙂

Let’s go back to one of my favorite bunco themes!  The Winter Wonderland Bunco party pack!  Check out my friend Laura from our bunco group and watch the video she did showing everything that comes in the theme pack here!

I’m sitting here watching it snow on this Friday in Idaho.  The mountains are going to be getting dumped on which is good for those of you who ski or snowboard.  My husband will be taking our son snowboarding this year for sure.  I can’t seem to get warm which makes me hungry for some reason.  I keep thinking of soups and chili’s and warm yummy desserts!  I wanted to share this dessert with you for your next Bunco game night or any get together you may be having soon.

Indoor S’mores

5 cups miniature marshmallows

1/3 cup light corn syrup

6 Tbs butter

1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips

1 Tsp vanilla

8 cups Golden Grahams Cereal

1 cup miniature marshmallows

Melt 5 cups of marshmallows, corn syrup, butter, and chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat stirring constantly.  Remove from heat.  Stir in vanilla.  Mix in large bowl with cereal until coated.  Stir in 1 cup marshmallows.  Press into a greased 9X13 inch pan.  Let stand one hour or refrigerate.

Oh my gosh it’s good!

Another thing I was thinking would be great is if we were to host a bunco fondu party!  I love fondu!  Since my husband and I have been together, we have a fondu party every year!

Have someone be in charge of the dessert and then another be in charge of the cheeses and bread.  We like to cut up steak cubes and have deep fried steak cubes and it is scrumptious!  There are so many fabulous things you can do with fondu!  Fresh broccoli and cauliflower dipped in melted cheese is one of my favorites too.  Also, don’t forget the strawberries and chocolate to dip in as well as apples and carmel!

Go ahead gals and get your pots together and have a bunco fondu party!!
